freckles & fire: the story so far....

Humm… Long or short version? Now I have never been good at that nutshell communication. I’m a talker – I’ll apologise now for that – but I reckon that it’s probably likely that you didn’t come on here to read my life story (I won’t take that personally!!).

So here goes my attempt at short.

Grown up career in marketing and branding. In London. Insert kiddies x 2 = removal of life as I once knew it. If I am brutally honest with myself a stay at home mummy life was just not for me – I love my monkeys but I love them more when I have had a bit of ‘me time’. So after much procrastination (I’m also VERY good at that!) freckles & fire was born in 2015 (yes, in child development stages I should be just about be starting early years schooling by now…).

Fast forward 7 years (and let's not even touch on the 2020-21 mash up) and the business is much different to its newborn days. We've developed, flexibly curved around corners and shifted. There is so much to come and the future is hopefully brimming with fabulous collaborations, more kits, and a whole lot more fun. All wrapped up in a cosy, cuddly, covid-free future. Wouldn't that be just gorgeous?!

My wish list 2022 is filled with:

  • Lots of real-life, massive bear hug cuddles with EVERYONE. I mean even strangers. When we are allowed I am going to be running around cuddling EVERY SINGLE HUMAN, possibly even face licking but I may consider the legal consequences of that before I embark on that closer than close decision.

  • The return of my beloved festivals. Music, creative juices and freedom - yes PLEASE!

  • Def more kiddies’ parties (hubbie thinks I am totally crazy but I LOVE working with little ones, maybe something to do with my own mental age?).

  • The Inside coming alive - teepees lining the park for fun playtime, yoga on the green, evening pizza sessions and maybe a wine o’clock license?

Oh gosh – this is not at all short. I’m stopping. RIGHT NOW, but actually last thing – please enjoy this website – browse around, check out my tutorial section to get down and dirty with our DIY kits and even give crochet a go, if you’re local keep in touch with our workshops and classes and of course please sign up to our newsletter as one day I may actually have my shizzle in order and write one! Oh, and if you like the site as much as I do then check out this pretty amazing lady – Hanna Sorrell – one super doper web developer!
